About Christy
Christy is an accredited social worker, bringing over 30 years of practice wisdom to her role as founder of Pathways Social Work. Her experience includes humanitarian work overseas, significant experience in the child protection sector as well as being an expert in the NDIS sector through her work as a Social Worker and Specialist Support Coordinator.
Christy brings not only professional but personal lived experience to her work within the NDIS sector and is passionate about supporting disabled people and those around them.

Christy also uses her experience and training to offer clinical and group supervision, de-briefing and training to individuals and organisations which can be tailored to the individual need.
She believes strongly that you are the expert in your own life, and that everyone should be supported on their own path in the way that they choose.

Originally from the North of England (think Wuthering Heights landscapes and Yorkshire puddings!), Christy has called Australia home since 2006. With a background in Deaf Studies and Disability, her career began with a strong foundation in inclusion and accessibility. After completing her degree, she embarked on a life-changing gap year, spending several years volunteering in Romania. There, she worked closely with children in an orphanage in the small town of FiliaÈ™i—an experience that deeply shaped her passion for supporting vulnerable and under-resourced communities.

Driven by a commitment to making a difference, Christy went on to complete postgraduate studies in Social Work, launching a career that has spanned both the UK and Australia. She has extensive frontline experience in child protection, trauma-informed care, and supporting children and families in crisis.

During a break from full-time work to raise her own family, Christy continued her practice through individual and family therapy, and made a significant contribution in the field of suicide postvention support.

In recent years, she has focused on working with people with disabilities and their families, particularly children in foster care or transitioning out of the Department for Child Protection (DCP) system. Her work is grounded in empathy, advocacy, and a strong belief in empowering individuals to lead meaningful lives.

When she’s not working, Christy enjoys spending time with her family and their beloved animals, soaking up the beauty of South Australia's Murraylands region.
